The entrepreneur has already carried out a market test in Italy which had a positive outcome, finding the interest of future customers. The production in the country of origin (Burundi) was organized and sees the involvement of women from the entrepreneur’s village of origin.
The entrepreneur intends to strengthen the production of a line of vegetable ivory costume jewelery items in Burundi and the resale both on the local market but above all on the Italian market. The product is made and packaged on the basis of the design made by the entrepreneur to meet the tastes of the Italian / European market.
The loan is intended to purchase the equipment for the on-site processing of the product in the Burundi Village and for the purchase of the first stock of material including the costs of initial shipment.
The total amount requested is: Euro 6.000
The entrepreneur is looking for financial assistance.
The activity involves the organization of the production unit in the country of origin coordinated by the partner resident in Burundi. The activities foresee the involvement of the women of the village for some tasks. The specific carving activities will instead be entrusted to men who previously carved animal ivory, providing them with the possibility of a new legitimate use. The entrepreneur will take care of both the design and the import and resale in Italy.
The activity in Italy will be carried out as a sole proprietorship in order to ensure cost containment especially in the initial phase. The prudentially estimated annual turnover is between € 25,000 and € 30,000 with a net profit of € 6,000. The profit, albeit low, is considered interesting considering the commitment required in terms of time and risk for the entrepreneur.
The entrepreneur shares her project with the partner who will manage the production part in Burundi in order to have an efficient control of the entire process.
